River of Words: Mixed Reality Experience in Mucuripe - Fortaleza, CE

River of Words is an immersive Mixed Reality experience that proposes a poetic crossing through the territories of memory in Mucuripe, Fortaleza. The intervention invites the public to walk along an interactive digital river, where words emerge from the water in response to the visitor’s presence, activating visual and sound content throughout the journey.

The narrative is built from affective fragments of the territory, such as washerwomen’s songs, fishermen’s testimonies, and symbolic elements like shells and corals. Using binaural sound, 3D modeling, and animations, the experience encourages attentive listening and contemplation,

establishing a sensitive connection between body, space, and memory. The latest version, River of Words 2.0, was developed for the Oculus Quest headset, expanding freedom of movement and interaction responsiveness.
