Conversations of Altamira: Rua Padre Justino – Praia de Iracema, Fortaleza, CE

The project Conversations of Altamira proposed an interactive urban intervention that combines memory, art, and technology. Installed on Rua Padre Justino, a little-known historic space in Praia de Iracema, the proposal transformed local urban furniture into narrative supports. Benches and planters were integrated with illustrations inspired by accounts from neighborhood residents, rescuing memories and stories of the area.

The experience featured an Augmented Reality app that animated the comics, revealing new narrative layers and connecting past to present through technology. The central figure of the project was Joãozinho, a non-verbal autistic youth who actively participated in the creation of memories and characters.

The project won the Vamos pela Sombra call from the Instituto Iracema and established a milestone in the integration of art, design, and technology in public space.
