From Point to Heritage – Immersive Film: Immersive Room of the Museum of Image and Sound (MIS Ceará)
“From Point to Heritage” is an immersive work developed within the scope of the Chief Scientist of Culture program (Funcap), resulting from a pioneering initiative in Brazil. The project digitally scanned with high precision cultural equipment and buildings that make up the historical heritage of Ceará, making them available for virtual visitation on the DocumentaCE platform.
The film, shown in the immersive room of MIS Ceará, guides visitors through virtual 3D environments, providing a visual and sensory experience that highlights the importance of preserving Ceará’s memory and identity.
The work is built from point clouds, a scanning process that generates precise three-dimensional representations of buildings and historical objects. The experience offers a new way to explore and appreciate cultural heritage, combining technology and memory preservation.
