Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that allows the overlay of virtual elements — such as images, text, animations, or 3D objects — onto the real environment, viewed through devices like smartphones, tablets, glasses, or specific headsets. Unlike virtual reality, which creates a fully digital environment, AR complements the physical world with interactive digital information, integrating the virtual with the real in real time. This integration is achieved through cameras, sensors, and software that recognize the environment and precisely position virtual elements.

This technology is used in various sectors, such as entertainment, education, tourism, healthcare, and advertising. Gaming apps, such as the famous Pokémon GO, have made AR popular in everyday life, but it is also applied for more practical purposes, such as visualizing furniture in spaces, technology-assisted surgeries, and interactive museum exhibitions. With the advancement of devices and connectivity, augmented reality has been gaining ground as a tool that transforms the way we interact with information and experiences in our daily lives.
